Lahore, Pakistan— Web Desk: The Session Court Lahore has approved a request to conduct a forensic examination of the mobile phone belonging to Arub Jatoi, wife of suspect Ducky Bhai, in connection with the ongoing gambling app promotion case.
The hearing was presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ali Qureshi, who also addressed Arub Jatoi’s interim bail application. Jatoi appeared in court with her lawyers, Usman and Aftab Advocate.
During proceedings, the investigating officer requested the court to allow forensic analysis of Jatoi’s mobile phone to aid in the investigation. The court granted the request, authorising the National Crime and Cyber Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to carry out the examination.
Jatoi’s legal team requested that the forensic report be scheduled after Ramadan, citing potential delays in processing, and the court extended her interim bail until March 24.
Judge Qureshi emphasised that Jatoi must ensure her future court appearances and clarified that no further exemptions from attendance would be granted under her interim bail.
The case against Arub Jatoi has been registered by the NCCIA under Pakistan’s cybercrime and gambling regulations, relating to alleged promotion of gambling apps. The investigation continues as authorities seek to gather digital evidence from her mobile device.
The court’s approval of the mobile forensic request is considered a key procedural step in the case, allowing investigators to examine potential communications and data relevant to the alleged offences.
The ruling reflects Pakistan’s legal approach to digital evidence in cybercrime and gambling-related cases, highlighting the judiciary’s increasing role in overseeing technology-driven investigations while ensuring due process for defendants.
