Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s hockey team has suffered a major setback ahead of the Pro Hockey League as star forward Hanan Shahid is ruled out due to a hamstring injury.
Hanan Shahid, who hails from Lahore, sustained the injury during a match against Australia in Hobart, with doctors confirming it as a first-grade hamstring tear. He has been advised to rest for at least four weeks, putting his participation in upcoming league matches and the World Cup Qualifiers in doubt.
The World Cup Qualifying Round is scheduled to take place in Egypt from March 1 to March 7. Shahid has previously played a key role in Pakistan’s victories and his absence is expected to impact team performance.
