Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Police in Karachi have arrested a suspect linked to the viral obscene video displayed on digital billboards in the Defence area, triggering public outrage and concern over content security on advertising screens.
According to investigators, the accused, identified as Ikram, works at an advertising company on a monthly salary of Rs35,000 and resides in Liaquatabad. In a viral video statement, he claimed the explicit content was mistakenly broadcast along with scheduled advertisements from his mobile device.
The suspect denied rumors about being underage, stating he is 20 years old but has not yet obtained a CNIC and was employed using his father’s identity documents. He further said the explicit video originated from a WhatsApp group and apologized for the incident, citing fear of losing his job as the reason for not coming forward immediately.
DIG South Asad Raza confirmed that the suspect claimed the video was aired accidentally during initial interrogation. Authorities have launched a broader investigation into digital billboard content management systems to prevent similar incidents in the future.
