Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi presents preliminary proposal via Oman amid U.S. talks

Muscat, Oman – Web Desk: In a significant diplomatic move, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi submitted Iran’s initial proposal to U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff during bilateral talks hosted in Oman’s capital, Muscat. The preliminary plan aims to revive stalled negotiations on the Iran nuclear program and regional tensions. Araqchi met separately with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi, who facilitated the transfer of the plan to U.S. officials.

Sources confirm that both delegations engaged in multiple consultative rounds with the Omani Foreign Ministry, focusing on establishing a constructive environment for ongoing diplomatic and technical talks. Oman’s neutral mediation has historically played a crucial role in U.S.-Iran communications, and the current discussions are viewed as a continuation of these efforts.

Regional countries, including Turkey, have offered mediation support, though the talks were ultimately hosted in Muscat at Iran’s request. Observers note that the development marks a critical step toward reviving dialogue on sensitive nuclear and security issues in the Middle East.
