DUBAI (Web Desk) – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi participated in the World Governments Summit held in Dubai, holding sideline meetings with global leaders, policymakers and international experts.

The World Governments Summit opened in Dubai on Tuesday, bringing together delegations from more than 150 governments for three days of discussions on governance, economic resilience and global stability amid mounting geopolitical tensions and rapid technological change.

On the sidelines of the summit, Mohsin Naqvi held important meetings with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as Rwanda’s Minister of Interior, Dr Vincent Biruta.

During his meeting with the UAE interior minister, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-UAE bilateral relations and agreed to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Mohsin Naqvi said that exchange programmes could prove highly beneficial in gaining practical experience from the UAE’s advanced policing system.

The two ministers also agreed to formulate a joint strategy to counter online terrorism and prevent terror financing, emphasising the need for closer coordination between the interior ministries of both countries.

In a separate meeting with Rwanda’s Interior Minister Dr Vincent Biruta, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, security cooperation and ways to expand collaboration in areas of shared interest. They agreed to promote institutional cooperation and decided to appoint focal persons to improve coordination between their respective interior ministries.

Dr Biruta said Rwanda was keen to enhance cooperation with Pakistani institutions. Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi, in his capacity as Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee (ACC), also visited the ACC headquarters, where he was briefed on the organisation’s operations and ongoing initiatives.
