Governor Faisal Karim Kundi says partnership will boost education, skills, trade and jobs
Peshawar, Pakistan | Web Desk: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has welcomed the approval to grant sister city status to Peshawar and New York, calling it a milestone for international cooperation.
The governor said the partnership will promote collaboration in economy, education, skill development, technology exchange and employment opportunities, especially for youth. He added that the sister city status would improve KP’s access to modern industries and global job markets.
According to officials, the New York Mayor’s Office has sent the draft agreement approved by the KP cabinet to the Governor House. The Mayor’s Office described the initiative as a positive example of global urban cooperation.
The establishment of sister city ties is expected to strengthen relations between Peshawar and New York, opening new avenues for cooperation in education, culture, trade and people-to-people exchanges.
