Tehran initiates negotiations after US threats; Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt to mediate
Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: In a major diplomatic development, Iranian President Masoud Pazeshkian has ordered the start of nuclear negotiations with the United States, following deadlines and military threat warnings issued by US President Donald Trump.
According to Iranian state media Fars News, Pazeshkian directed officials to begin discussions on the nuclear file with Washington. Details regarding the date or venue of the talks have not yet been disclosed.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baqai, confirmed that frameworks and procedures for the negotiations are being finalized, with several points under review. A senior unnamed US official told global news agencies that talks could start this week.
Preparations indicate that Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt will play a mediatory role in the upcoming US-Iran nuclear talks, aiming to prevent potential military actions in the Middle East. President Trump had previously stressed that Iran’s time is running out for reaching a deal.
