Indian cricket board supports ICC stance as Pakistan skips World Cup clash vs India
Mumbai, India | Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has expressed full support for the International Cricket Council (ICC) following Pakistan’s decision to boycott the T20 World Cup match against India.
BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla, addressing the Lok Sabha, said the board aligns with the ICC’s recent statement emphasizing sportsmanship and fair play, though no final action will be taken until direct discussions with the ICC occur.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has no immediate plans to formally write to the ICC, interpreting the council’s Sunday night statement as an acknowledgment of Pakistan’s position. PCB officials feel that further clarification is unnecessary at this time.
The controversy comes amid heightened tension surrounding the T20 World Cup 2026 and has generated significant media attention in both countries.
