Raids launched to arrest Najaf Hameed in corruption and illegal assets inquiry
Islamabad, Pakistan | Web Desk: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched an inquiry into allegations of corruption and assets beyond known sources of income against Najaf Hameed, brother of former DG ISI Lt Gen (R) Faiz Hameed.
According to sources, the FIA Anti-Corruption Cell has formally initiated the investigation and sought details from multiple government institutions. Authorities have also requested complete records of Najaf Hameed’s bank accounts, financial transactions, and properties as part of the probe.
The FIA conducted raids at various locations in an attempt to arrest Najaf Hameed; however, he could not be apprehended. It is pertinent to note that his interim bail was earlier cancelled in connection with a land scam case, intensifying the legal pressure against him.
The development has sparked fresh debate over accountability, high-profile corruption cases, FIA investigations, and assets beyond means in Pakistan.
