Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal highlights Gwadar’s rise as Pakistan’s modern coastal city 2026
Gwadar, Pakistan – Web Desk: Federal Minister for Planning, Prof. Dr. Ahsan Iqbal, said Gwadar is emerging as a strategic hub connecting Pakistan to the global trade network. Addressing the seminar and exhibition “Gwadar Modern Coastal City 2026”, Iqbal emphasized the government’s commitment to developing Gwadar Port as a center of industrial and trade growth.
The event gathered local and international experts, policymakers, and business leaders, focusing on investment, security, sustainable development, and economic opportunities. Senator Mashahid Hussain Syed stated Gwadar is becoming a key center for regional trade, port economy, and global connectivity.
Aftab ur Rehman Rana, MD Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, highlighted Gwadar’s tourism potential, projecting it as a future tourism hub for Pakistan. Experts Dr. Jameel Ahmad and Dr. Hassan Dawood Butt emphasized Gwadar’s logistics, industrial prospects, and Special Economic Zones, forecasting a major contribution to Pakistan’s economy.
Dr. Ashfaq Hasan Khan of Dean Nest University stressed empowering local communities through employment and economic development. Participants hailed the Gwadar Seminar 2026 as a milestone in Pakistan’s national economic growth.
