US President reiterates Greenland control demand, warns Europe on security

US President Donald Trump has declared he no longer feels restricted to making decisions solely from a peace perspective after being denied the Nobel Peace Prize. In a letter to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, Trump expressed disappointment over the Nobel committee’s decision and reiterated his demand for complete American control over Greenland, citing global security concerns. He also criticized Denmark’s ability to safeguard Greenland from Russia and China, questioning their ownership claims. Norway clarified that the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded by an independent committee, not the government. Trump has previously threatened European countries with tariffs to advance his Greenland ambitions.
