Russian President affirms strong cooperation with Pakistan and Shanghai Cooperation Organization
Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised the steadily growing relations between Pakistan and Russia, calling them “mutually beneficial” during a ceremony where Pakistan’s newly appointed ambassador Faisal Tirabi presented his credentials. Putin emphasized that Russia will continue its cooperation with Pakistan, a member of the region’s strongest organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
In a statement released by the embassy, Putin highlighted that the partnership between Moscow and Islamabad spans multiple sectors and serves the interests of both countries. The Russian President stressed that constructive international cooperation is key to sustainable development, global stability, and peace. He underlined that peace must be actively maintained and requires daily effort, responsibility, and conscious decisions by all parties.
Putin also pointed out that in today’s increasingly complex and interconnected world, global challenges are intensifying, and unilateral or aggressive actions are replacing diplomacy and negotiation, making strong bilateral partnerships more important than ever.
The Pakistani ambassador reaffirmed that the cooperation between the two nations is expanding in various fields, and special attention will be given to strengthening ties with the Pakistani community in Russia.
The ceremony, attended by newly appointed diplomats, saw Putin stressing the importance of transparent and principled partnerships to address shared challenges, and highlighted the role of the SCO in regional security and cooperation.
Pakistan-Russia relations have seen a marked improvement in recent years, focusing on trade, defense, energy, and regional security. Analysts say these ties are likely to grow stronger as both countries seek to enhance strategic collaboration and economic connectivity in the region.
