Militant Network Hit: Three Afghan-Linked Fighters Dead

Date:

RAWALPINDI– Security forces successfully thwarted an attempted cross-border infiltration from Afghanistan into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eliminating three terrorists in swift operations along the frontier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

According to the military’s media wing, troops detected suspicious movement of terrorists in the Esham area opposite North Waziristan and promptly engaged them. During the encounter, two militants linked to the Indian-backed Fitna al-Khawarij network were killed.

One of the slain militants was identified as Qasim, an Afghan national reportedly serving with the Afghan Border Police, ISPR confirmed. In a separate intelligence-based operation in the Tank district, another militant – identified as Afghan national Ikramuddin, also known by the alias Dajana – was neutralised.

The ISPR further stated that the leadership of Fitna al-Khawarij is currently operating from inside Afghanistan, orchestrating infiltration attempts into Pakistan. These efforts, according to the military, are designed to project the group’s continued presence within Pakistan and to boost the morale of its dwindling cadres following successful counterterrorism operations in Bajaur and Mohmand districts.
