Trump Claims Pakistan, China, Russia Conduct Secret Nuclear Tests

Date:

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump has alleged that Pakistan, China, and Russia are conducting secret nuclear weapons tests, while the United States remains the only major power abstaining from such activities.

In an interview with CBS’s “60 Minutes”, Trump said he has instructed the Pentagon to resume nuclear testing, citing concerns that countries like North Korea and Pakistan are conducting tests without public disclosure.

The remarks have sparked global concern, raising questions about whether the U.S. intends to break its 1992 moratorium on nuclear testing. Trump emphasized that despite America’s vast nuclear arsenal — “capable of destroying the world 150 times” — testing is necessary to ensure functionality.

He accused Russia and China of conducting tests “silently,” and insisted that the U.S. should not be the only nation refraining from such actions. “We are an open society,” Trump said. “If others are testing, we must too.”

As of now, Pakistan’s Foreign Office has not responded to the allegations.

Experts warn that Trump’s statements could undermine global non-proliferation efforts and threaten international treaties aimed at curbing nuclear arms development. If the U.S. resumes testing, it may trigger a new wave of strategic instability worldwide.
