Karachi: In a landmark move for women’s sports in Pakistan, the Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) Women’s Wing has secured a permanent sponsorship from Mehran Bottlers, marking a major step forward in the promotion and development of women’s hockey in the city.

Zeeshan Habib Teli, CEO of Mehran Bottlers, pledged long-term support for the organization, a commitment warmly welcomed by Syeda Shehla Raza, MNA and Chairperson of KHA, and Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah, President of the Karachi Hockey Association. Both leaders praised Teli’s initiative as a game-changer for aspiring female athletes.

The announcement was made during a vibrant ceremony at the KHA Sports Arena, where Olympian Hanif Khan presented the official KHA Women’s Wing logo to Mr. Teli, while Dr. Imran Ali Shah received a commemorative badge for his continued support. District Sports Officer Hajra Nawab and KHA Women’s Wing President Mrs. Asma Ali Shah honored the guests with bouquets and shields, celebrating their contributions to the sport.

Mrs. Asma Ali Shah expressed her excitement:

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Teli as a permanent sponsor. His support will help us build a strong foundation for women’s hockey in Karachi and inspire young girls to chase their dreams.”

The KHA Women’s Wing is currently hosting a match series between Under-15 KHA Boys and Ghulaman-e-Abbas to prepare players for the upcoming National Games. Head Coach Naeem Ahmed is leading the training camp, focusing on skill-building and competitive readiness.

Dr. Imran Ali Shah, CEO of A.O Clinic, also visited the camp and pledged to bring more sponsors on board. Prominent businessman Faisal Nadeem from the USA and Olympian Waseem Feroz were among the distinguished guests who applauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of consistent training and infrastructure for player development.
