Federal Education Directorate warns schools, colleges over corporal punishment

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education has issued a letter to the heads of all schools and colleges, clarifying that corporal punishment in all forms is completely prohibited.

The Directorate of Education wrote the letter on complaints of physical punishment of children in educational institutions of Islamabad.

The letter stated that action committees should be formed immediately in all government, private, religious and child care institutions and notifications of functional committees should be submitted by September 13, 2025, otherwise strict legal action and fines will be taken.

The institutions have also been directed to organize seminars to protect the rights of children.
