40 Killed as Passenger Bus Plunges into Ravine on Balochistan-KPK Border

QUETTA, Pakistan – Web Desk: At least 40 passengers were killed and several others injured when a passenger coach plunged into a deep ravine near the border between Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. The tragic accident occurred at Dana Sar on the border, as the coach was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar.

According to rescue sources, the death toll has risen to 40, with 8 others injured. Women and children are among the deceased and injured. Upon receiving information about the accident, the district administration of Sherani, rescue teams, and ambulances rushed to the scene. Rescue personnel from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also arrived to assist in the relief operations.

Deputy Commissioner Sherani Hazrat Wali Kakak confirmed that the injured are being transferred to nearby hospitals, while rescue efforts to retrieve and transport the bodies of the deceased are ongoing. Emergency has been declared in hospitals in Sherani and Dera Ismail Khan to ensure immediate and adequate medical care for the injured.

Rescue 1122, Frontier Corps (FC), police, district administration, and other relevant agencies are participating jointly in the rescue operation. The challenging mountainous terrain is posing difficulties for relief efforts, but rescue workers continue their operation tirelessly. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
