Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported an earthquake in Tajikistan, measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale. According to details shared by the department, the tremor was recorded on July 2, 2026, at 12:50 pm Pakistan Standard Time.
The PMD stated that the earthquake’s depth was recorded at 89 kilometres, making it a moderately deep tremor. The epicentre was located in Tajikistan at coordinates 38.43 degrees north latitude and 69.59 degrees east longitude.
No reports of casualties or damage have emerged so far in connection with the tremor. Authorities continue to monitor seismic activity in the region, as Tajikistan and neighbouring areas lie along an active fault line frequently prone to earthquakes of varying intensity.
