Pakistan’s star batter reacts angrily after his dismissal while representing Lahore Whites against FATA, with footage of the incident spreading across social media.

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN — WEB DESK: Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam lost his temper after being dismissed for 42 runs during a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold 2026-27 match, with a video showing him striking his bat against the pitch going viral on social media.

Representing Lahore Whites against FATA, Babar appeared visibly frustrated after losing his wicket in the second innings.

The incident attracted considerable attention among cricket fans, particularly as the batter continues to face scrutiny over his recent performances.

Babar Azam’s angry reaction goes viral

According to report, Babar was unable to control his frustration after his dismissal and struck his bat against the pitch before returning towards the pavilion.

The footage quickly circulated on social media, prompting mixed reactions from cricket supporters.

While some fans sympathised with his disappointment, others criticised his reaction, arguing that senior international players should maintain composure on the field.

Babar scores 42 after controversial first-innings dismissal

Babar’s second-innings dismissal followed another disappointing outing in the first innings, when he scored 28 runs before being given out caught behind.

That decision had sparked controversy, as video replays appeared to show that the ball may have passed his bat without making contact.

The absence of the Decision Review System (DRS) in the domestic competition meant Babar could not challenge the umpire’s decision.

He subsequently scored 42 runs in the second innings before being dismissed by FATA pacer Shahid Aziz. The ball took the outside edge and was caught by wicketkeeper Rehan Afridi.

Babar looks to regain batting form

Babar’s participation in domestic cricket has attracted attention as he looks to regain consistency and confidence ahead of Pakistan’s upcoming Test assignments.

His scores of 28 and 42 in the match against FATA have kept the focus on his batting performances.

The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy provides an opportunity for experienced international players and emerging cricketers to compete in first-class cricket.

For Babar, the immediate challenge will be to convert promising starts into substantial scores and regain his rhythm.
