Reporting cited by Hindustan Times says Ticktin is among outside advisers urging Trump to consider stronger federal control over the elections and has discussed scenarios involving martial law or a national emergency.
These are proposals attributed to outside advisers. They are not established Trump administration policy, and available reporting does not show that Trump has approved a martial-law plan.
That distinction is essential because a headline saying “Trump to impose martial law” would go beyond the evidence currently available.
Broader Debate Over Federal Presence at Polls
The reports emerge amid a wider controversy over the possible presence of federal law-enforcement personnel around polling places.
