Mahira Khan Announces Second Pregnancy During TIFF 2026 Debut
TORONTO, CANADA — WEB DESK: Pakistani actor Mahira Khan has announced that she is expecting her second child, sharing the personal milestone as she makes her debut at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
The 41-year-old star confirmed the news through an Instagram post on Sunday, sharing a photograph in a flowing white gown in which her baby bump was visible. The announcement quickly attracted congratulations from fans and members of the entertainment industry.
The pregnancy will be Khan’s first child with her husband, Salim Karim, whom she married in October 2023. She is already a mother to son Azlan from her previous marriage to Ali Askari.
The announcement coincides with another career milestone for the Pakistani star: her debut at TIFF. Dawn Images reported that Khan attended the festival while also discussing her career, South Asian representation and her personal journey.
Speaking about becoming a mother again at 41, Khan said the experience has been different and more challenging than her first pregnancy. She noted that she was 24 during her previous pregnancy and is now at a very different stage of life, both physically and emotionally.
Khan rose to widespread prominence through the television drama Humsafar, which became one of her defining performances. She later expanded her profile internationally and appeared opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the Bollywood film Raees.
Her latest announcement has generated significant attention across Pakistani and regional entertainment media, with multiple publications reporting the pregnancy following her social-media post.
The timing of the announcement, alongside Khan’s first TIFF appearance, marks a significant personal and professional moment for one of Pakistan’s most internationally recognised screen stars.
