Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa’s names rejected twice for Sitara-e-Imtiaz

Date:

Reports say the federal government rejected nominations for the two Pakistani stars before their names were reconsidered for the civil award.

WEB DESK: Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa were reportedly nominated for the prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz civil award, but their names were rejected twice by the federal government before being reconsidered.

According to a report published by Express News, the two prominent stars were initially proposed for the country’s third-highest civilian award in recognition of their contributions to Pakistan’s entertainment industry.

However, their nominations reportedly did not receive approval during two separate rounds of consideration.

Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa among entertainment personalities

Mahira Khan is among Pakistan’s most prominent television and film actors, having built a major career through both domestic productions and international projects.

Fahad Mustafa has also established himself as a leading Pakistani actor, television host and producer, with a career spanning film and television.

Both actors have received widespread recognition for their work and have remained influential figures in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.

Civil awards recognise national contributions

Pakistan’s civil awards are presented to individuals in recognition of distinguished contributions across fields including arts, literature, science, sports, public service and other areas.

The Sitara-e-Imtiaz is one of the country’s prominent civilian honours and is awarded to Pakistani citizens as well as, in some cases, foreign nationals for distinguished services.

The reported rejection of the two actors’ nominations has attracted attention because of their high public profiles and longstanding contributions to the entertainment sector.

The circumstances surrounding the earlier decisions, including the reasons for rejecting their names, have not been officially detailed by the federal government.

Names eventually considered

Despite the earlier rejections, the names of Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa were reportedly reconsidered as part of the process for the civil awards.

Any final award announcement, however, remains subject to official confirmation from the relevant government authorities.

The development has generated discussion among fans and followers of the two actors, particularly over whether their contributions to Pakistani cinema and television will ultimately be recognised with the prestigious honour.
