North Korea Blames US-Led Alliance for ‘New Security Crisis’ in Asia-Pacific

Date:

SEOUL – Web Desk: North Korea has accused the United States, Japan, and South Korea of creating a “new security crisis” in the Asia-Pacific region, warning that their expanding military cooperation threatens regional stability, according to state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

A military commentator said the three countries are enhancing joint warfighting capabilities through large-scale exercises, including the recent RIMPAC naval drills involving over 30,000 personnel, 30 warships, five submarines, and 190 aircraft. Pyongyang described the exercise as a rehearsal for “aggression” and accused Washington of seeking military dominance.

North Korea also criticized US-South Korea air and logistics drills, plans to strengthen US command structures in Japan, and the deployment of advanced US missile systems. It warned of responding to “a threat of a new level with a deterrence of a new level.”

Separately, North Korea’s Foreign Ministry rejected US-led cyber threat allegations as “groundless” and politically motivated. A spokesperson accused the US of militarizing cyberspace and escalating tensions in the digital domain.
