Bilawal Bhutto Warns: ‘Clock Is Ticking on PML-N Government’

Date:

ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has launched a fresh attack on his federal coalition partner, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), alleging widespread rigging in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections and warning that the “countdown for the federal government has begun.”

In a series of posts and video messages on X, Bilawal described the elections as “bullet elections, killer elections, bloody elections.” He claimed that despite the alleged rigging, the PPP emerged victorious on nine parliamentary seats, including in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad, and vowed to deliver the “stolen” seats to his voters.

Bilawal said the struggle for rights to sovereignty, ownership, and livelihood would continue, and the movement would no longer be confined to Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. “I will carry forward this movement across the entirety of Pakistan,” he said, adding: “Tick tock, tick tock. Your countdown has begun.”

The PPP chairman paid tribute to Kashmiris for confronting “threats, rigging, and bullets” from the PML-N, noting that PPP workers embraced martyrdom during the campaign, a party MNA was shot in the hand, and an attack was made on the AJK state president.

With the completion of the first two phases of the AJK elections, the PML-N has emerged as the clear frontrunner with 23 seats, while the PPP has secured nine. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar dismissed the allegations, saying the PPP should have put in more effort, as it did in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, and criticized Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon for “baseless accusations.”
