Saudi Crown Prince, Turkish President Erdogan Discuss Red Sea Security in Phone Call

RIYADH – Web Desk: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss bilateral relations, the latest developments in the Middle East, and security in the Red Sea, according to Saudi state media.

The two leaders reviewed opportunities for further cooperation across various sectors and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. The call also addressed escalating tensions in the Middle East and threats to international shipping in the Red Sea.

President Erdogan strongly condemned attacks on commercial vessels by Iran-backed Houthi militia, expressing full solidarity and cooperation with Saudi Arabia. The Turkish president welcomed the multinational naval defense coalition led by Saudi Arabia, expressing hope it would succeed in securing global maritime routes and achieving its objectives. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, stability, and mutual cooperation in the region.
