Pakistan Navy Rescues 19 Fishermen Stranded in Arabian Sea

PNS Taimur carried out a successful search-and-rescue mission, providing humanitarian assistance before towing the disabled fishing vessel safely to shore.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — WEB DESK: The Pakistan Navy has successfully rescued 19 fishermen after their fishing vessel became stranded in the northern Arabian Sea due to an engine failure, officials said.

According to the Pakistan Navy, the rescue operation was carried out by PNS Taimur after the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC) requested assistance.

Rescue Operation Launched

The fishing boat had become disabled approximately 120 nautical miles south of Gwadar after experiencing engine trouble.

The vessel was carrying 19 people, including 11 Pakistani and eight Iranian fishermen.

Following the distress call, PNS Taimur reached the location and launched a search-and-rescue operation.

Humanitarian Assistance Provided

Pakistan Navy personnel provided the stranded fishermen with food, drinking water and medical assistance before beginning efforts to recover the vessel.

The disabled fishing boat was later safely towed to shore, bringing the rescue operation to a successful conclusion.

The Pakistan Navy said the operation reflects its continued commitment to ensuring maritime safety and responding promptly to emergencies in Pakistan’s waters.
