Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Karachi Port has successfully berthed the MSC Mirjam, one of the world’s largest container vessels, marking a significant achievement for Pakistan’s maritime infrastructure .
The vessel, measuring 400 metres in length with a capacity of 19,500 TEUs, was berthed at the SAPT-2 terminal, according to the Karachi Port Trust (KPT). The mega ship is expected to handle 1,500 containers during its stay at Karachi Port before departing for its next destination, Salalah, Sultanate of Oman .
KPT officials said the successful handling of such a large container ship is evidence that Karachi Port is equipped with world-class facilities and has the full capacity to manage the movement of large vessels .
