Iran has reportedly instructed Yemen’s Houthi movement to be prepared to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait if the United States launches an attack on Iran’s electricity infrastructure, according to Reuters, citing two senior Iranian officials and a regional source.
Tehran, Iran – Web Desk:The sources said the message has already been conveyed to the Houthis as tensions between Tehran and Washington continue to escalate.
The Bab al-Mandab Strait is one of the world’s most strategically important maritime chokepoints, linking the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden. Any disruption to shipping through the waterway could have significant consequences for global trade, oil supplies, and international maritime traffic.
The reported message comes amid heightened military tensions in the Middle East and growing concerns over the security of major global energy and shipping routes.
