Ahmadinejad Dismisses NYT Regime Change Allegations as “Ridiculous”

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has dismissed a New York Times report that accused him of being part of an Israeli regime change plot, describing the allegations as “completely false” and “ridiculous” .

Ahmadinejad Denies Mossad Ties

In a statement from his office, Ahmadinejad categorically denied any connection with Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency and rejected claims that he was being considered as a potential alternative to Iran’s leadership . The statement also dismissed the newspaper’s claim that the former president is under house arrest .

Accusations Against NYT

Ahmadinejad’s office accused the American newspaper of publishing fabricated reports to mislead the public and fuel internal divisions in Iran . “We categorically reject all the completely false allegations made by the New York Times,” the statement said .

Background

The New York Times had earlier reported that Mossad had attempted to persuade Ahmadinejad to cooperate with Israel in recent years, positioning him as a potential candidate for Iran’s leadership . The report also alleged that the former president had been placed under house arrest .
