New York, United States – Web Desk: A small seaplane crashed into New York City’s East River on Monday, prompting a swift rescue operation that safely evacuated all eight people on board.
According to reports, emergency services received an alert about the aircraft going down shortly after midday and immediately launched rescue efforts.
Rescue officials said the aircraft remained upright after entering the water, allowing responders to safely evacuate all passengers and crew. Two people sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the pilot experienced a hard landing, which caused one of the aircraft’s wings to break off before it came to rest in the river.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident. Further details are expected once the inquiry is completed.
