TEHRAN, Iran – (Web Desk) Iran has warned foreign military forces against conducting any military activity in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that the strategically vital waterway should not become a venue for displays of force by non-regional powers.
Speaking on the issue, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said the Strait of Hormuz is not a place for military demonstrations by external countries and emphasized that regional states are responsible for maintaining its security.
“As a guarantor of the security of the Strait of Hormuz, Iran warns against any military movement by non-regional forces in this vital waterway,” Gharibabadi said.
He added that safeguarding the Strait of Hormuz is the responsibility of the coastal states and warned that any party creating tensions or instability would bear responsibility for the consequences of its actions.
The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions and renewed international focus on the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important maritime routes for global oil and energy shipments.
