Tehran, Iran – (Web Desk) Iran has officially announced the schedule for the public funeral ceremonies of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, with nationwide mourning events set to begin on July 4, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Brigadier General Ali Akbarpour Jamshidian of the IRGC said that the gates of the Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran will open to the public at 6:00 a.m. on July 4, allowing mourners to pay their final respects and view the late leader’s casket.
He further announced that the funeral prayer for Ayatollah Khamenei and members of his family who were martyred will be offered on July 5 at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran.
According to the announced schedule, a state funeral procession will take place across Tehran on July 6, with large crowds from across Iran as well as international delegations and foreign visitors expected to participate.
Iranian authorities have made extensive security and logistical arrangements ahead of the ceremonies, anticipating one of the largest public gatherings in the country’s recent history.
The funeral events are expected to draw millions of mourners, senior government officials, religious leaders, and international dignitaries, reflecting the significance of the occasion for Iran and the wider Muslim world.
