ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced the successful restoration of internet services across the country following the completion of repair work on the international submarine cable SMW5. The technical fault, which had disrupted connectivity and slowed speeds for numerous users, has been resolved.
According to the PTA, internet traffic is now flowing normally and service is being provided without interruption. The authority had previously clarified that the technical fault in the SEA-ME-WE 5 (SMW5) submarine cable caused temporary quality issues, with the situation being closely monitored.
The disruption had impacted daily online activities and digital services, with multiple complaints regarding slow internet and connectivity issues reported from various cities across Pakistan yesterday. The restoration has now ensured uninterrupted internet provision for consumers nationwide.
