Chennai, India – Web Desk: India’s Sun TV Network was reportedly targeted in a cyberattack that temporarily disrupted the broadcasts of several television channels after hackers allegedly gained unauthorized access to the network’s internal broadcast management portal.
According to reports, the cyberattack briefly affected and altered transmissions across multiple Sun TV channels. During the incident, the regular broadcast feed was interrupted, and unauthorized visuals, including a Pakistani flag and a “Pakistan Zindabad” banner, were reportedly displayed on screen.
The attackers also allegedly launched a ransomware attack, locking nearly 1,800 domain systems linked to the network’s infrastructure, further impacting operations.
Cybersecurity experts said the incident highlights the growing threat posed by sophisticated cyberattacks targeting media organizations and critical digital infrastructure. They stressed the importance of strengthening cybersecurity frameworks, incident response systems, and digital resilience to prevent similar breaches in the future.
