ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Web Desk: Positive progress has been reported in the US-Iran talks held in Qatar, with both sides expressing readiness to convene the next round of negotiations soon.

According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, Qatari and Pakistani mediators held separate meetings with American and Iranian negotiating teams in Doha today, during which positive developments were achieved on matters related to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

The discussions built upon the progress made following the Lake Lucerne Summit, with constructive exchanges on various key points. The spokesperson confirmed that a new date for the talks will be set after the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, with both parties agreeing to continue the negotiation process.

Meanwhile, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari also confirmed that significant progress has been made in the ongoing indirect talks between Iran and the United States, and both countries have agreed to resume the next round of discussions immediately after the conclusion of the former Supreme Leader’s funeral rituals.

According to Iranian media reports, the main funeral prayer and burial ceremonies for the late leader are scheduled to take place on July 7 in the holy city of Qom. Reports indicate that the funeral prayer will be offered at 5 AM local time, led by a senior Shia cleric.
