Doha, Qatar – Web Desk: JD Vance says US and Iran delegations will hold talks in Doha.
US Vice President JD Vance has said that American and Iranian delegations are expected to hold talks in Doha on Thursday as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions between the two countries.
In a televised interview, Vance said technical-level discussions between the United States and Iran are already underway, describing the planned meeting in Qatar as part of broader efforts to advance dialogue.
Commenting on Tehran’s public denial of direct negotiations in Doha, Vance said Iran’s statements reflect its negotiating strategy rather than an indication that diplomatic contacts are not taking place.
He added that Washington remains committed to achieving a successful outcome through diplomacy. However, Vance said the United States would remain in a strong position even if the negotiations fail to produce an agreement.
The expected talks come amid continued international efforts to address key issues between Washington and Tehran, with Qatar continuing to play an important mediating role in regional diplomacy.
