Mumbai, India – Web Desk: A tragic incident on the set of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film has sparked calls for increased compensation after a carpenter reportedly died from an electric shock while working on the production.
According to Indian media reports, the worker, identified as Chandra Dhari Singh Yadav, lost his life during work on the set of the highly anticipated film Love & War. The incident has raised fresh concerns about workplace safety standards in the entertainment industry.
Following the worker’s death, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) demanded that Bhansali provide Rs50 million in compensation to the deceased worker’s family and extend educational support for his two children.
FWICE President B N Tiwari said the filmmaker had already provided Rs40 million in financial assistance but the federation is urging an increase in compensation and long-term support for the family.
The film Love & War stars Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt, and is scheduled for theatrical release on January 21, 2027.
