Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that progress in the Iran-US talks would not have been possible without the relentless efforts of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir .
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister welcomed the successful conclusion of the first High-Level Committee meeting held at Bürgenstock in Switzerland under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding .
He noted that the meeting resulted in agreement on a roadmap to reach a final deal within 60 days, the establishment of a High-Level Committee for political oversight, and the commencement of further technical negotiations .

The Prime Minister commended the leadership of both the United States and Iran for their sustained commitment to constructive negotiations . He expressed gratitude to all friendly and brotherly countries that provided valuable support in advancing this historic process .
He specifically thanked Qatar for its “critical role” in creating a conducive environment for the talks, and also thanked the Swiss government for hosting and facilitating the negotiations .
Recognition of Pakistan’s Leadership
PM Shehbaz paid special tribute to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, stating that his “tireless efforts, commitment and steadfastness played a decisive role in making these negotiations successful.” He added: “Without Field Marshal’s efforts, progress in the Iran-US talks would not have been possible” .
He also acknowledged the diplomatic efforts of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and the Foreign Office team, as well as the contributions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi .
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its sincere and positive role in promoting peace, dialogue, and diplomacy to ensure sustainable and peaceful resolution of conflicts .
