Oil Tanker from Gulf Port Catches Fire Near Gwadar Coast

Gwadar, Pakistan – Web Desk: A crude oil tanker coming from a Gulf port caught fire near the Gwadar coast, prompting a swift emergency response by the Pakistan Navy, according to Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) sources.

The incident occurred on Thursday when the vessel, carrying crude oil from a Gulf port, reported fire onboard approximately 80 miles off Gwadar. Officials said the nearest port was about 48 miles away at the time of the emergency.

Upon receiving a distress call, the Pakistan Navy immediately launched a rescue operation and dispatched emergency teams to the location. Naval personnel managed to bring the fire under control in a timely operation.

Authorities confirmed that the fire was of a minor nature and no major damage or casualties have been reported so far.

PNSC sources said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire and assess any potential losses.

The incident highlights ongoing maritime safety concerns along key shipping routes passing through the Arabian Sea near Pakistan’s coastline.
