Iran’s President Shares Trump-Signed Peace Deal Copy with Media

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has released a copy of the ceasefire agreement signed with the United States to the media, which includes the digital signatures of both President Pezeshkian and President Donald Trump .

According to media reports, this marks the first time an international agreement between two countries has been executed through electronic signatures .

The development comes as the formal signing ceremony in Switzerland, scheduled for Friday, remains under review, with a final decision expected within hours . The ceremony was originally planned to include high-level delegations from both the United States and Iran, along with leaders from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye, and Egypt, who played key mediation roles .

Digital Signing Confirmed

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that the final text of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States has been finalized and that both parties have completed the electronic signing process .

“Considering that the text was finalized and signed, there remains no need for a signing ceremony,” Baghaei said. “However, if any of the regional states intend to hold a meeting in Geneva, this meeting would be held under a different title and setting, and the Islamic Republic of Iran would also participate in that meeting” .

The digital signatures were reportedly performed by both presidents through secure electronic channels, with the agreement prepared in both Persian and English to avoid any future disputes over interpretation .

Formal Ceremony Under Review

The planned formal ceremony in Geneva remains under review by both governments. Iranian sources have indicated that the meeting, if it proceeds, may be redefined as a gathering of regional leaders to celebrate the diplomatic breakthrough rather than a formal signing ceremony .

If the ceremony is canceled, the agreement will be fully implemented and activated from Friday without a public signing event .

MoU Implementation

The memorandum includes provisions for the release of Iranian frozen assets, the lifting of sanctions on Iran’s oil exports, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, with the US agreeing not to increase its military presence in the region or impose new sanctions during the 60-day period .
