Pakistan Army MI-17 Helicopter Crashes Near Muzaffarabad, All on Board Martyred

MUZAFFARABAD – Web Desk: A Pakistan Army Aviation MI-17 helicopter crashed near Muzaffarabad on Wednesday due to a technical fault during flight, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

All personnel on board embraced martyrdom, with no survivors, the military’s media wing said. Rescue and relief teams reached the crash site immediately after the accident to begin relief and recovery operations. A high-level investigation board has been constituted to determine the cause of the accident and the nature of the technical fault.

The ISPR stated that the Army Chief, Chief of Defence Staff, and all officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives, offering heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident, paying tribute to all personnel martyred in the crash, stating that the entire nation salutes the sacrifices of its brave sons.
