Netanyahu Says Israel Ready, Awaits Trump’s Decision on Iran

Date:

Jerusalem, Israel – Web Desk: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that any decision to launch renewed military action against Iran will ultimately rest with U.S. President Donald Trump, adding that both American and Israeli forces are prepared if such a move is approved.

In an interview with CNBC, Netanyahu said tensions with Iran remain unresolved despite what he described as a significant weakening of Iran’s capabilities. He noted that the regional security situation remains highly sensitive and continues to require close coordination between allies.

The Israeli leader stated that preparations for potential military action are complete and that the United States and Israel are ready, but any escalation would depend on a decision by President Trump.

Netanyahu also downplayed reports of friction with Trump, saying the two leaders remain aligned on key strategic objectives, including efforts to disarm Hezbollah and promote stability between Israel and Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Trump confirmed in an interview with the New York Post that he had a tense conversation with Netanyahu two days earlier. According to reports, the discussion involved disagreements over regional security matters and Israeli military rhetoric toward Beirut.

Netanyahu said he speaks with Trump approximately every two days and acknowledged that differences occasionally emerge over tactical and strategic issues. However, he stressed that both sides generally reach a common understanding.

He further indicated that any decision regarding heightened military pressure on Iran or possible actions related to the Strait of Hormuz would ultimately be made by the U.S. president.

The remarks come amid ongoing speculation about future U.S.-Israeli policy toward Iran and increasing diplomatic efforts to address regional security concerns across the Middle East.
