WASHINGTON – Web Desk: Global recognition is growing for Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir’s mediation role between the United States and Iran, with international media highlighting his pivotal contribution to the negotiations.
According to US television network CBS News, Field Marshal Munir’s visit to Tehran played a key role in bringing the negotiations toward a final outcome. The report stated that while Gulf countries and Lebanon are part of the ongoing Middle East conflict, only Pakistan succeeded in finalizing the draft. Following the Field Marshal’s return from Tehran, the proposed draft was sent to Iranian and US leadership for review.
The report noted that Field Marshal Munir enjoys the trust of both the United States and Iran, with coordination between Pakistan’s political and military leadership serving as a fundamental element of the mediation. President Donald Trump has previously referred to Field Marshal Asim Munir as “my favorite Field Marshal.” CBS News added that Pakistan has played a fundamental role in establishing diplomatic ties between the US and China in the past as well.
