Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan and Germany have signed a €40.5 million technical cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening development collaboration in key sectors including climate change, social protection, and renewable energy.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, the agreement will support the launch of nine new development projects in partnership with Germany’s development bank KfW Development Bank. The initiative is expected to further deepen bilateral development cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement was signed by Secretary Economic Affairs Muhammad Humair Karim on behalf of Pakistan, while German Ambassador Anna Lepel represented the German government.

Officials said the deal expands the overall bilateral development portfolio to approximately €550 million, reflecting long-standing cooperation between the two countries since 1961.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Economic Affairs Secretary praised Germany’s continued support and highlighted the strong and enduring development partnership based on mutual trust.

Ambassador Lepel reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive development in Pakistan, saying the new agreement reflects shared priorities in addressing global challenges such as climate change, energy transition, and social vulnerability.

She added that the projects under this agreement are expected to deliver meaningful benefits to communities across Pakistan.
