ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: Russia has once again expressed support for Pakistan’s role as a mediator in the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, the Russian ambassador to Pakistan announced during a news conference.
Ambassador Albert P. Khorev stated, “We support Pakistan’s mediation role in the US-Iran conflict.” He added that Russia would back any initiatives aimed at a peaceful resolution that addresses the concerns of both Washington and Tehran.
Separately, the Russian envoy addressed recent media reports in Pakistan regarding alleged recruitment by Russia within the country. Ambassador Khorev said he could not confirm these reports, describing them as contradictory. He noted that the individual in question had not applied for a visa at the Russian embassy. Pakistani authorities are currently investigating the matter, and the ambassador expressed hope that the findings would be made public soon.
Regarding the Ukraine war, the Russian ambassador observed that Pakistani media frequently highlight Ukrainian casualties and infrastructure damage, while Russian losses are rarely discussed. He asserted, “Sooner or later, we will achieve our goals in the Ukraine war. Russia is prepared for all scenarios.”
