Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), has strongly rejected recent remarks made by General Upendra Dwivedi, describing them as provocative and reflective of what it called an “irresponsible mindset.”
According to ISPR, Pakistan is a recognized nuclear-armed state and an important country in the international system, with an undeniable geographic and historical presence in South Asia.
The statement said the Indian Army Chief, in a recent interview, suggested that Pakistan must decide whether it wants to remain part of geography and history, a comment ISPR termed inflammatory and unacceptable.
ISPR responded that such rhetoric reflects a failure to accept regional realities and accused Indian leadership of promoting a confrontational narrative. It added that responsible nuclear states demonstrate restraint, strategic maturity, and diplomatic responsibility rather than issuing aggressive statements.
The military’s media wing also alleged that India has a documented history of supporting destabilizing activities in the region, including cross-border incidents and disinformation campaigns.
ISPR further said that Pakistan’s resilience and position have been repeatedly demonstrated, including during recent regional tensions, and warned that any attempt to target Pakistan would have consequences beyond geographical boundaries.
The statement urged India to adopt a path of peaceful coexistence and strategic stability in South Asia, emphasizing that escalation benefits no side and poses risks to regional and global security.
