Moscow, Russia – Web Desk: Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope that tensions between the United States and Iran would end soon, warning that a prolonged conflict could have serious consequences for global stability and energy markets.
According to international media reports, President Putin said the situation in the Middle East, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, could force the world to “pay a heavy price” if tensions continue to escalate.
The Russian leader described the Iran crisis as highly complex, adding that it has placed Russia in a sensitive diplomatic position due to Moscow’s close ties with both Iran and Gulf countries.
Putin noted that Russia maintains strong political and economic relations with Iran as well as key Gulf states, making the rising regional tensions a matter of strategic concern for Moscow.
He further warned that if the conflict drags on, its impact would extend beyond the Middle East and affect the global economy, international security, and energy supply chains.
President Putin also reiterated Russia’s support for diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and finding a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
