Australia Bans BLA, Labels Group as Terrorist Organization

Date:

Canberra, Australia – Web Desk: Australia has officially imposed a ban on the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), designating the group as a terrorist organization, according to a statement from the Australian government.

The Australian Foreign Minister said the BLA has been involved in violent terrorist attacks across Pakistan, underlining concerns over regional security and militant activity.

In the statement, the minister reaffirmed Australia’s “unwavering commitment” to counterterrorism efforts and the fight against violent extremism.

The decision aligns Australia with several other countries that have already proscribed the group due to its alleged involvement in attacks targeting civilians and security forces in Pakistan.

Authorities said the designation will enable stronger legal and financial measures against the organization, including restrictions on support networks and related activities.

The move is being seen as part of Australia’s broader strategy to strengthen international cooperation on counterterrorism and regional stability in South Asia.
