Rawalpindi, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share deep, brotherly and trust-based relations, adding that under their mutual defense understanding, any threat to Saudi Arabia would also be considered a threat to Pakistan.
Speaking during a press briefing, Lt Gen Chaudhry emphasized the long-standing strategic and emotional ties between the two countries, describing the bilateral relationship as rooted in decades of cooperation and mutual respect.
Responding to a question regarding regional security dynamics, he said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia’s defense agreement reflects a shared commitment to each other’s security interests.
He noted the symbolic importance of the custodianship of the Holy Mosques, calling it a great honour for Pakistan and the wider Muslim world, and stressed that the protection of the holy sites is closely linked to Saudi Arabia’s national security.
“Saudi Arabia’s security is important to us, just as Pakistan’s security is important to Saudi Arabia,” he said, adding that both countries view each other’s stability as interconnected.
The ISPR chief also stated that Pakistan has always fulfilled its commitments and remains prepared and confident in its defense capabilities. He said Pakistan’s armed forces have demonstrated significant sacrifice and readiness in past conflicts.
He further remarked that India had previously misjudged the strength of the relationship between Pakistan’s military and its people.
