Charsadda, Pakistan – Web Desk:Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has strongly condemned the killing of prominent religious scholar and former MPA Maulana Idris in Charsadda, expressing deep grief over the incident.
In a statement, he said he was saddened by the news of Maulana Idris’ death, adding that the slain cleric “paid the price for defending Islam and Pakistan.” He described the attack as an assault on those who speak for the Quran, Sunnah, and the country.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said religious scholars are devoted ideological defenders of Pakistan, but there are inadequate security arrangements for their protection. He added that Maulana Idris had always advocated peace, yet became a victim of violence himself.
He described the deceased scholar as a distinguished religious figure, preacher, and political thinker who dedicated his life to religious service and education.
The JUI-F chief said Maulana Idris had a long-standing relationship of trust and respect with him, calling his death a personal and collective loss for the party.
He urged authorities to immediately arrest the perpetrators and make them an example, stating that rising lawlessness and terrorism are a serious challenge for the state.
